Creating the Slashed Zero Character Ø With Linux

This is how to make a slashed zero with Linux.

The Latin capital O with a slash in unicode can be created by typing the code:

Press the Control and Shift keys together, press and release "u" then enter "00d8" (with out the quotation marks).
Alternatively, press the Control and Shift keys together, press and release "u" then just "d8" seems to works also .
